Gray's friends encouraged her start using social media. She has since had better success using the platform that her colleagues. Her mother used the app for the sole purpose of watching her. Loren's success with musical.ly was also a success on other social media sites. People began to react to her videos, as well as creating compilations of Gray's musical.ly videos for YouTube. Gray was thrilled by the fame she gained however, certain of her peers weren't so happy. Indeed, some were friends who turned on Gray, instead of embracing her. Loren's mother became concerned for Loren's mental wellbeing and opted to get her from school.
