Tessa Thompson

The actor Tessa Lynn Thompson was born on the 3rd of October 1983 in Los Angeles, California. Thompson is the daughter of the singer and songwriter Marc Anthony Thompson and the grandchild of musician-actor Bobby Ramos. The majority of her childhood was spent living in Los Angeles, before she made the move to Brooklyn. Her mother is Mexican and British Isles family heritage, whereas her father is African-Panamanian. Thompson was a student at Santa Monica High School, which she appeared in various theatre productions. Following graduation, she was enrolled at Santa Monica College, where she received a bachelor's diploma in the field of cultural Anthropology. She performed as Juliet in Shakespeare's play "Romeo and Juliet" during a performance held at the Boston Court Theatre in Pasadena, California. The performance made her a NAACP Theatre nomination the same year.
